Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to complete the course?

The time to complete the training varies, but most delegates would expect to complete the training within 2 hours.

Do I need to complete the training in one sitting?

Upon purchasing the course, you will have access to the materials for 30 days.

Are there any assessments/quizzes?

There are a number of short multiple choice quizzes designed to test knowledge. These can be taken an unlimited number of times.

Who is this course designed for?

This course is designed for the designated radiation protection supervisor (RPS, Schools). However, science staff, teachers, technicians, and health and safety professionals are all welcome to enrol. Whilst we recommend that the designated RPS (Schools) is a member of the teaching staff, this course is for anyone with an interest in the area of using radioactive materials in schools.

Is this course suitable for refresher training?

Absolutely, if you already have some experience with the use of radioactive materials in schools, or perhaps have been on a RPS (Schools) training course before, you will benefit from the latest advice and insights.

What are the advantages of taking this self-study course compared with a live-course?

The course resources will be available for a while after completion, enabling you to go back and review anything you didn't quite understand. This is not possible in live training.

Additionally, there are multiple quizzes and self-assessments to help and guide you through the role of the RPS (Schools).

Another significant advantage is being able to complete the training in your own time.

Whilst you will miss out on the live engagement aspect, you can always get in touch with us if you have any specific questions about anything related to the content of the course, we are always more than happy to help.
